How warm weather may affect dispatch timing and how to manage your shipping preferences during hotter months.
Fine wine is sensitive to heat, so during periods of warm weather LANGTONS offers greater flexibility over how your orders are dispatched.
You can now choose to have eligible orders held at our warehouse if warm weather is forecast in the delivery area.
Default setting
Unless you update your preference, your orders will be dispatched as soon as possible, regardless of weather conditions.
Warm weather hold preference
You can set your account to automatically hold orders at our warehouse if the forecast temperature in the delivery area is above 29°C.
How to update your preference
To update your shipping preference in your account:
- log in to your account
- go to My Account > Dashboard
- select Manage Preferences
- choose Auctions & Deliveries
- tick Set my shipping default to hold orders at the warehouse if warm weather is forecast in the delivery area
- click Save
Flexible options at checkout
When placing an order online or arranging delivery for auction purchases, you can choose whether to hold or not hold your order based on the forecast.
If you place your order through your Private Client Manager, simply let them know your preference.
Releasing a held order
If your order is being held due to warm weather, you can contact us at any time to request immediate dispatch, regardless of temperature.
Once dispatched, standard delivery timeframes remain 2 to 10 business days across Australia.
Important to note
Heat damage during transit is not covered by LANGTONS’ Delivery Guarantee.
