Fine wine is sensitive to heat — and during the warmer months, the care we take in protecting your wines extends to the journey itself. You may choose to have eligible orders held in our care when warm weather is forecast in the delivery area, or along the transport route.
Default setting
Unless you update your preference, your orders will be dispatched as soon as possible, regardless of weather conditions.
Setting a warm weather hold
You may set your account to automatically hold orders in our care if the forecast temperature is above 29°C in the delivery area, or along the transport journey.
How to update your preference
- Log in to your account
- Go to My Account > Dashboard
- Select Manage Preferences
- Choose Auctions & Deliveries
- Tick Set my shipping default to hold orders at the warehouse if warm weather is forecast in the delivery area
- Click Save
Worth remembering: Heat damage during transit is not covered by the LANGTONS Delivery Guarantee.
Flexibility at checkout
When placing an order online, or arranging delivery for auction purchases, you may choose whether to hold or dispatch based on the forecast. If you order through your Private Client Manager, simply share your preference.
Releasing a held order
If your order is being held due to warm weather, you may contact us at any time to request dispatch regardless of temperature. Please note, locating a held order can take up to 10 days depending on current demand. Once dispatched, standard delivery timeframes remain 2 to 10 business days across Australia.
