At LANGTONS, the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. A few considered notes on how pricing moves across our channels — and the small protections that surround it.
Prices may change without notice
The Store Price of wines in the Wine Store, and prices quoted through Client Services, may shift from time to time. Fine wine is a living market, and prices respond to vintage, rarity, demand and the wider story of each producer. We do not generally provide advance notice of these changes.
The price at checkout is the price you pay
The price payable for a Wine Store or Client Services purchase is the price displayed at the moment payment is processed. A previously displayed, cached, screenshotted, emailed, advertised or wish-listed price — should it differ from the price at checkout — cannot be honoured.
No retrospective adjustment
If the price of a wine is later reduced — as part of a sale, clearance or promotion — we are not able to refund, credit or price-match the difference on purchases already complete.
A purchase is considered complete from the moment payment has been processed and a tax invoice issued.
Where we have expressly offered a price-protection guarantee for a particular promotion, the terms of that offer will prevail.
If a pricing error occurs
On rare occasions, a wine may be listed at a price that is materially incorrect — a data entry slip, a system display error, the small things that occasionally find their way into any catalogue. Where this happens, we may cancel the affected order, in whole or in part, even after a tax invoice has been issued. Where the order has already been settled, we will refund the full amount to the original payment method.
Sales, promotions and stock
Sale and promotional prices are available only for the period we specify, and only while stocks last. We may withdraw, extend, shorten or modify a sale at any time, subject always to our obligations under the Australian Consumer Law.
Auction prices
For clarity, this article does not apply to auction purchases. The total purchase price for a lot won at auction is the Hammer Price plus the Buyer's Premium, discovered through the bidding itself — and not subject to retrospective adjustment by reason of any later change in Wine Store pricing.
