Some lots invite contemplation before commitment. The Watch feature is LANGTONS' way of allowing you to follow lots that capture your interest, without yet placing a bid. It is, in essence, the auction equivalent of a wishlist.
What watching a lot allows you to do
When you watch a lot, you may:
- follow bidding activity as it unfolds
- return easily to lots you are considering
- receive updates while the auction remains open
- be considered for second chance offers, where eligible, should the lot pass in
Watching a lot does not place a bid, reserve the lot, or commit you to purchase.
How to watch a lot
On any auction lot page or lot card, select the Watch option (shown as an eye icon). A short confirmation will appear once the lot has been added.
Where to find the lots you are watching
All watched lots may be viewed from the auction area of your account dashboard.
Watching, bidding and AutoBid
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Watch | Follows the lot only. No bid is placed. |
| Bid | Places an irrevocable offer to acquire at the specified amount. |
| AutoBid | Sets a maximum bid and bids on your behalf, only as required. |
Watching and second chance offers
If a lot is passed in because bidding did not reach reserve, we may invite watchers and prior bidders to acquire the lot at reserve for a limited period after the auction closes. Watching a lot helps ensure you are considered.
