The festive season is one of the finer moments fine wine is made for — and one of the busiest periods on the delivery network. To help your wines arrive in good time, we have set the following order-by dates for Christmas 2026.
To receive your wines before Christmas, orders must be placed and settled in full by the dates below. These are our guaranteed cut-offs — orders placed after them will still be sent with the same care, though delivery before Christmas cannot be assured.

A few things worth knowing
Orders must be settled before dispatch. Your order is only released once payment has been received in full. If you are settling by bank transfer or BPAY, please allow for clearance time well ahead of the relevant cut-off date.
Auction purchases follow their own rhythm. If you are relying on an auction win as a gift, please consider the auction close date, settlement and your shipping preference together. Consolidated shipping groups eligible purchases every 30 days, which may fall after Christmas — if a particular lot is destined for the tree, auto shipping or a manual dispatch request is the surer path. See Choosing between auto and consolidated shipping.
Pick Up has its own timing. Orders collected from a participating Dan Murphy's store need time to reach the store before you collect. Please place Pick Up orders by the metro cut-off for your state, and wait for the ready-for-collection notification before visiting. See Pick Up from a Dan Murphy's store.
Deliveries still require a signature. Unless otherwise selected, an adult signature and proof of identity are required. If the recipient may not be home over the festive period, please consider the timing — or discuss alternatives with our team. See Receiving your delivery.
If your order is held for warm weather
December brings its own considerations. If you have a warm weather hold on your account — or have chosen to hold an order at checkout — your wines will rest in our care until conditions are suitable. This is a protection we encourage, but it is worth planning around at this time of year.
Please note that releasing a held order is not instantaneous. Locating and preparing a held order can take up to 10 business days, depending on current demand. Once dispatched, standard Australia Post timeframes then apply — generally 2 to 4 business days within the same state, and 3 to 6 business days interstate.
If you would like a held order released in time for Christmas, please speak with us well before the cut-off dates above — ideally by late November. A brief conversation is the surest way to see your wines arrive when you would like them to.
For more on warm weather holds, see Caring for your wines through the warmer months.
